New Cafe Opening this January

We took a bit of a break since Christmas but are now back to the usual business of brunch blogging again. 😌🎉
Our first review this year is at the newly launched Australian Cafe called Patissez in Phrom Phong neighbourhood. The cafe’s grand opening was on 20 January and we thought why not check it out.

Cozy Aussie Cafe: Patissez

Patissez is located in Parc 39, which is one of the community mall in Sukhumvit 39. It is not very hard to spot the wooden-clad structure from the road. The decor has all the usual ingredients of any hip cafe you may find in Australia. The warm wooden tone, polished concrete floor, exposed light bulbs. A dash of turquoise blue colour adds some accent to the whole composition. Overall it has a relaxing cafe feel, perfect for enjoying a slow brunch.

Freakshake!!!

Our first thought was that Patissez sounds very French, but it actually originates from Canberra, Australia. Patissez is famous for its incredibly rich, indulgent and may we say literally over-the-top Freakshakes. The shakes come in many varieties and flavours, but the most popular one that every table seems to be ordering is their signature Pretzella. This is essentially nutella blended with icecream, topped with whipped cream and salted pretzels! This is probably sufficient as a meal in its own right.

Massive Portion

We ordered Smashed Avo and Burrata, Bakers Breakfast and Toastie BJ. We were very impressed with the Smashed Avo that comes with well-seasoned salad with fresh burrata cheese and homemade pesto. The Bakers Breakfast and Breakfast BJ were equally impressive and everything came in massive portions. They certainly were not holding back on their scrambled eggs here. The bacon jam in Breakfast BJ (what did you think BJ stands for, huh? 😳) has an interesting taste and texture, the combo between the sweetness of the jam and bacon works nicely.

Freshly Squeezed Juice

Another thing we would like to give Patissez good credits for is their fresh juice menu. The juice comes freshly squeezed with many healthy options to choose from (in contrast to their Freakshakes). We ordered Earth which has beetroot, celery and apple, as well as Mind, which was a refreshing composition of mint, dragon fruit, and green apple. It was refreshingly tasty and even comes in a very decent size glass too.
And as barista coffee is practically a must for any Australian cafe, you should of course also enjoy one or two of their flat whites or lattes.

We left the cafe feeling rather stuffed and satisfied 🙂 As part of their new opening promotion, if you like their Facebook page and Instagram you would also receive a 10% discount for food and beverage bill. We don’t know how long this promo lasts, so better make use of it soon. On that note, if you like our Facebook page and follow us on Instagram you won’t get 10% discount anywhere, but at least you won’t miss any hot brunch spots in and around Bangkok anymore.
